Week 3 Round-Up | Century, Wins & Junior Stars

NCC Admin7 May - 07:24

Century hero Jamie McDougall, junior stars stepping up, and wins across the age groups. Week 3 at Northwich CC

1st XI Match Report | Northwich CC vs Woodford CC | 2nd May 2026
What a match. Northwich CC 1st XI produced a nervy but brilliant home win against Woodford CC, chasing down 195 to win by 4 wickets with just four balls to spare.

Winning the toss and electing to field, Northwich bowled Woodford out for 194 from 45 overs, with the bowling attack sharing the wickets around nicely.

The chase was set up by a truly outstanding innings from Jamie McDougall, who became a Northwich 1st team home centurion, scoring 106 not out from 124 balls. Batting through the entirety of the innings across 154 minutes at the crease, Jamie held the chase together from start to finish in what was an incredible individual performance. With the pressure mounting in the final overs, he kept his cool to guide the side home and seal a memorable win.

A special day at Northwich CC. Well played, Jamie.

2nd XI Match Report | Timperley CC vs Northwich CC | 2nd May 2026
The 2nd XI made the trip to Timperley on Saturday and faced a tough afternoon, losing by 6 wickets. But again, the scoreline doesn't tell the full story.

With a side once more heavily made up of juniors stepping up to senior cricket, Northwich batted first and posted 91 all out from 23 overs. Alex Plank top-scored with a bright 33, and Jack Baskeyfield showed real character lower down with an unbeaten 28. In the field, Hayden Durney impressed with 2 wickets, and Logan Tabberner also chipped in as Northwich picked up a bowling point.

Timperley knocked off the runs inside 16 overs, but that shouldn't overshadow what these young players are doing week in, week out. Turning up, competing, and gaining experience at senior level is invaluable. Every game is a learning curve and this group should be proud of the effort they continue to put in. More to come from this lot, no doubt.

U9s vs Holmes Chapel CC
Another Monday and another win for this brilliant little squad of players. In a game where the extras column took a battering, it was our batting that was the difference and secured the victory - only losing 2 wickets in our 16 overs and everyone contributing to the runs meaning that we ran out convincing winners What a fantastic start to the season with 3 wins from 3! Well done lads!

Junior Nova’s vs Alvanley CC
After the success of the indoor league earlier this year our lovely girls played their first outside game of the year against Alvanley. It was a fantastic game with loads of boundaries and wickets from both teams, the victory went Northwich’s way this time - a great start to the season! Shout out to two girls who made their debut! Great performance from all - well done Girls!

Oulton Park CC vs U11s
Our Under 11’s travelled to Oulton Park in a really close game with only 3 runs difference between the teams but Northwich taking more wickets to secure the win by 18 runs. Fabulous team spirit from all and a great game to watch! Well done Team!
