Northwich won the toss and elected to bat, posting 176 all out from 42 overs. Jacob Booty and Jamie McDougall got the innings off to a positive start, contributing 33 and 34 respectively, and Lampotharan Sivakumar played an excellent unbeaten 44 to give the innings some late impetus. Charlie Shuttleworth added 15 and Alex Ingham chipped in with 18, but Northwich were unable to build the kind of total needed on the day. S Nasir was outstanding with the ball for Bowdon Vale, taking 5 wickets from 10 overs, with M Lloyd claiming 2.

In reply, Bowdon Vale knocked off the target with ease, losing just 1 wicket in 36.3 overs. S Nasir followed up his bowling performance with an unbeaten century of 100, and J Halsall contributed an equally impressive unbeaten 59 to see the visitors home comfortably. Eshan Bhatt was the pick of the Northwich bowlers with 1 wicket.

A tough day at home. The lads will regroup and go again next week.

3rd XI Match Report | Northwich CC vs Lymm Oughtrington Park CC | 26th July 2026

A hard-fought home defeat for the 3rd XI, going down by 5 wickets to Lymm Oughtrington Park CC in a closely contested game.

Lymm won the toss and elected to field. James Maddock was outstanding with the bat, top-scoring with a superb 84 from 112 balls, carrying the innings almost single-handedly. Pritish Bachhav contributed 18 and Rajishan Sivakumar added a useful 14 late on, but Northwich were restricted to 151-9 from their 40 overs. Arik Cross was the pick of the Lymm bowling with 3 wickets, and Hari Cross and Liam Blears each claimed 2.

Chasing 152, Lymm got home in 28.3 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Liam Ramsbottom top-scored with a quickfire 56 and Hari Cross contributed 38 at the top of the order. For Northwich, Rajishan Sivakumar and Connor Brown each took 2 wickets, with James Maddock also claiming 1, but Lymm held their nerve to seal the win.

A game that was very much there for the taking. Plenty of credit to James Maddock for a brilliant individual innings. The lads will go again next week.

Crewe vs U11s

On a lovely sunny Friday night in Crewe our Under 11’s played their final game of the season. Although the result did not go our way - we reflect on a fab season for a great group of kids - the club, coaches and parents are all super proud!

Fabulous attitude from every single player - trying their best in every game making sure they always support each other.

This team are so lucky to have such brilliant coaches - thanks to Ash and Paul who this season have developed the team so much. Important to mention that so many of this team have taken the first step to hard ball and the environment you create and the support you have shown has been second to none! Thank you for all you do, along with all the parents who have stepped up to score, umpire and help with training!

Final thanks is to Harry and Dan for stepping up to help with Friday night training - it’s great to see our older Juniors giving back to the club.

What a fab U11 team we have - we look forward to the end of season celebrations!

U11s vs Haslington CC

Our Under 11’s played the first of two games this week against Haslington at home. This was an incredibly close game which could have gone either way, but tonight it was Haslington which took the win by only 9 runs!

Well done all on a great game! Special shout out to an under 9 for stepping up to play!

U17s vs Middlewich CC

The Under 17’s took on Middlewich at home, with both teams having a number of under 15’s and 13’s stepping up it was an incredibly close game… which went right to the last over! Unfortunately it was not our night but only by 4 runs! What a nail biter of a finish… and don’t they all look fabulous in the lovely blue kit!

Winnington CC vs U9s

Our youngest age group finished their league season. Unfortunately our fabulous under 9’s lost to a very good Winnington side - but by only 9 runs.

Despite the result it was one of our best performances of the season with everyone playing their part. This age group has had a fantastic season - we are incredibly proud of the talent, drive and brilliant attitude this young group have shown - we have absolutely no doubt these lads have fantastic things to come!

We will continue training for a few more weeks and will look to introduce hard ball cricket to the older members of the squad that will be moving into the under 11s next season.
As the games draw to an end is only right to shout out to our coaches! Jim, Charlie and Mark - take a bow! The time you have dedicated to this group to ensure they don’t only improve but also have fun along the way has not gone unnoticed! Thank you for all you do for this team and the club
