Week 13 Round-Up | 3rd XI Win at Home, Women's Softball Victorious, Tough Day for the 1st XI
The 3rd XI and Women's Softball team both win at home, but it's a difficult afternoon for the 1st XI away at Langley. Week 13 round-up.
1st XI Match Report | Langley CC vs Northwich CC | 11th July 2026
A tough afternoon for the 1st XI away at Langley CC, who ran out winners by 92 runs after posting a formidable total.
Langley won the toss and elected to bat, and despite Northwich's best efforts with the ball, they posted 290 all out from 43 overs. Gabe Adamson top-scored with 72 and Josh King contributed a quickfire 71, with Adam Cartwright adding 39 lower down. Will Marston was the pick of the Northwich bowlers, taking 4 wickets, with Alex Claridge-Ingham and Jomy John each claiming 2.
Chasing 291, Northwich were bowled out for 198 in 38 overs. Jamie McDougall was outstanding with the bat, falling just three short of a century on 97, and Alex Claridge-Ingham chipped in with a lively 23. James Knight was the most effective bowler for Langley, taking 3 wickets from 11 very economical overs, with Sam Stanier also claiming 3 and Josh King picking up 3 late on.
A big target to chase on the day, but some real positives in the batting. The lads will go again next week.
3rd XI Match Report | Northwich CC vs Haslington CC | 12th July 2026
An excellent home win for the 3rd XI, chasing down 177 to beat Haslington CC's 4th XI by 6 wickets in a well-controlled performance.
Northwich won the toss and elected to field. Thusyanthan Rajaretnam was superb with the ball, taking 5 wickets from 8.5 overs, and Ankush Padghane claimed 2 as Haslington were bowled out for 176 in 33.5 overs. Aaron Pittem top-scored for the visitors with a well-made 73, but Northwich kept taking wickets at regular intervals to keep the total in check.
Chasing 177, Northwich got home with 6 wickets to spare. Connor Brown got the chase off to a flying start with 39, and Jack Baskeyfield and Pritish Bachhav both contributed excellent half-centuries, with Baskeyfield finishing unbeaten on 51 and Bachhav contributing 51 before being dismissed. Matthew Evans saw the side home not out on 8.
A brilliant team performance all round. Well done lads!
Women's Softball Match Report | Northwich CC vs Holmes Chapel CC | 12th July 2026
A fine home win for the Northwich Women's Softball team, beating Holmes Chapel CC by 8 runs in an entertaining game.
Holmes Chapel won the toss and elected to field, but Northwich posted a competitive 87-3 from their 16 overs. In reply, Holmes Chapel were restricted to 79-6 from their 16 overs as Northwich held their nerve to seal an 8-run victory.
A great result for the women. Well done all!
U11s vs Sandbach CC
Our under 11’s played Sandbach at home on Thursday. A close game which could have gone either way - luckily Northwich hung on in there and won by 15 runs! Well done team! Great game!
Middlewich CC vs U15
On Tuesday our U15’s travelled to Middlewich in the league. Middlewich won the toss and elected to bat first making a total of 113 runs. A fantastic bowling performance from Northwich, with 2 Bowlers getting wicket maidens!
Northwich replied with an incredible batting performance, with our opening batters leading the way with both retiring - one making 40 from just 13 balls! Northwich securing the victory by 8 wickets in the 15th over!
A brilliant performance lads! Same again tomorrow night please!
U9 vs Elworth CC
Our Under 9’s put up a brave fight against a very strong Elworth team on Monday. We lost a few too many wickets when we were batting, but the bowling was very disciplined and with a bit more luck we could have made the game a lot closer. Yet another great effort from the brilliant little team.
