Northwich CC 2nd XI 138/2 (19.1 overs)
Northwich CC 2nd XI produced another emphatic performance on Saturday, chasing down Trafford Metrovics’ modest total with ease to claim an 8-wicket win in just 19.1 overs.
Opener Ashley Sefton was in sensational form, hammering 86 from just 43 balls, including 15 fours and 2 sixes, to single-handedly dismantle the Trafford attack. He was ably supported by Jamie McDougall (22 off 25), and the pair put on a commanding stand that left little doubt about the result.
After Sefton’s dismissal, Joey Wakefield (13*) and Alex Yohannan Usha (7*) calmly saw Northwich over the line without further trouble.
Earlier in the day, Trafford Metrovics posted 134 for 7 from their 40 overs – a total that looked below par and was proven so by Northwich’s explosive response.
This latest win sees Northwich 2nd XI maintain top spot in Division A with 286 points from 19 games, holding a 14-point lead over Runcorn 2nd XI heading into the last few rounds of fixtures.
