Northwich Cricket Club kicked off the 2025 season in style, with every team—seniors and juniors—securing impressive opening victories across the board.
Seniors
1st XI vs Bredbury St Marks CC
Northwich CC 1st XI launched their 2025 season with a commanding 138-run victory over Bredbury St Marks CC 1st XI on April 19. After posting 138 runs, Northwich’s bowlers dismantled the opposition, dismissing them for just 118. Match Report.
1Middlewich CC vs 2nd XI
Northwich CC 2nd XI began their 2025 season with a commanding 103-run victory over Middlewich CC 2nd XI on April 19. Batting first, Northwich posted 196/6, led by Joesph Wakefield’s 55 and Muhammad Iqbal’s unbeaten 43. In response, Middlewich were bowled out for 93, with Ashley Sefton and Finlay Atherton each taking two wickets. This dominant performance sets a strong tone for the season ahead. Match Report.
Juniors
U13s v Holmes Chapel
Our under 13’s opened the junior season with a bang with a home game against a talented Holmes Chapel side. It took a team effort to secure the victory by 57 runs with 3 of our players making their under 13’s debut! The game saw 4 batters scoring over 20 runs, and 4 bowlers taking wickets! Brilliant start to the season Under 13’s! Bring on the Under 11’s and 15’s tomorrow
Nantwich CC Vs U15s
Our under 15’s had a great start to their season on Wednesday night. The boys faced Nantwich away and were put into field first - some incredible bowling and consistent fielding kept Nantwich to 86 runs. It’s great to see the drills in training brought to life. Four batters stepped up and thanks to some massive 4’s and 6’s ensured they won the game with 9 wickets. Fab game from both teams and a brilliant watch!
U11s Vs Middlewich CC
Our under 11’s completed a club hat trick of victories over the past few days with a home game against Middlewich. It was a close game with both teams showing off some fab batting, fielding and bowling. With four of the Northwich players making their hardball debuts! Brilliant start to the season Under 11’s! Well done to all involved in a brilliant opening game of the season.
