Northwich CC 2nd XI - 220 all out (39.5 overs)

After being asked to bat first, Northwich posted a competitive 220 all out, powered by a superb century from opener Jamie McDougall. The in-form right-hander struck 105 from 89 balls, peppering the boundary with 18 fours in a fluent innings that laid the foundation for the visitors’ total.

Despite regular wickets falling around him, McDougall held firm, with support from Jimmy Kimber (24 off 17) and Charlie Shuttleworth (15 off 11) adding valuable late runs. Northwich were eventually bowled out just before completing their 40 overs.

In response, Barrow’s innings faltered early and never fully recovered under sustained pressure from the Northwich attack. Alex Claridge-Ingham led the way with a sensational spell of 3 for 10 from 5 overs, tearing through the top order. He was ably supported by Alex Yohannan Usha, who claimed 3 for 19, and Jimmy Kimber, who wrapped up the tail with 2 for 17.

Barrow’s only real resistance came from Mike Lord (42) and Tom Birch (22), but they lacked support as wickets tumbled around them. The hosts were eventually bowled out for 130 in 29.2 overs, handing Northwich a comfortable 90-run win.

This result cements another strong showing for the 2nd XI, who continue their push up the Division A table with confidence and momentum.
