Northwich Novas 298 def. Runcorn Rebels 284
In a rearranged fixture against the always-welcome Runcorn Rebels, the Northwich Novas secured a brilliant win at Moss Farm. Bowling first, the Novas kept it tight with disciplined overs and sharp fielding, highlighted by Emma’s first clean bowled (earning her player of the match), a great final-ball catch by Sam, and some boundary heroics from Kelly. Runcorn set a solid 284 to chase. In reply, after a steady start from Emma and Sam, partnerships from Ang and newcomer Tors, followed by a flurry of fours from Rachael and Aimee, pushed the total to 264. Laura and Thea then finished the job with a strong, wicket-free partnership, taking the Novas to 298 and sealing the win. A fantastic evening of cricket full of team spirit and support—thanks to Peter for umpiring, our scorers, and everyone who came down to cheer! Match Report

Juniors

U15s
Our under 15’s traveled to Holmes Chapel on Wednesday, this team have had a fantastic season showcasing what they really can do and how far they have come if clear to see. Losing the toss and being put into bat, the lads put on a really strong, controlled batting performance with two batters making over 20 runs and the team making 137 runs. It was the bowling performance which sealed the victory - taking 6 wickets and holding Holmes Chapel to 109. Well done lads - we go into the final 2 games to see out the season against Elworth and Sandbach.

U11s
Our under 11’s were due to have their final game of the season on Wednesday but unfortunately the other team conceded, but to still get their cricketing fix we played a friendly against a lovely Holmes Chapel Team and celebrated the end of the season with hot dogs, ice pops and cake at the end of the game! Proud of this team this season, go out every game, give it their all and play with big smiles. Big thanks to Simon for coaching the team this season, we appreciate all the time and effort you have put into the team this year, the support you have shown the team has been fantastic! Best of luck to the lads who are making the leap to Under 13’s next season! No doubt good things ahead for this group.

U9s
In their final match of the season, Northwich U9s narrowly lost to a strong Davenham side in a close contest. Batting first, Northwich posted 69 but lost 6 wickets, making the chase more difficult. Despite not firing with the bat as usual, the team bowled tightly and fielded brilliantly, taking the game to the final overs. Likely finishing 3rd overall, this young team has shown fantastic spirit, teamwork, and progress all season. Huge thanks to coaches Ash, Jimmy, and Mark for their outstanding support and guidance—this group has a bright future ahead.
