Juniors

Sandbach CC vs U15s
Our under 15’s travelled to Sandbach for a league game this week. The team were put to field first and took 7 wickets by 7 different bowlers which showcases what a fantastic team effort it was! Sandbach left us chasing 107. The lads stepped into bat and showed really confident batting with 2 batters making over 20 runs and 1 retiring, resulting in a victory of 6 wickets. A fantastic performance by our under 15’s - well done lads.

Ashton CC vs U13s
Our under 13’s travelled to Aston tonight for the league game, which was slightly less eventful than last Monday which saw a cricket ball go straight through the back window of a parents car for 6! Northwich won the toss and opted to bat. Although we saw some strong batting with 3 players scoring over 20 runs, and two batters retiring, we left Aston chasing a catchable 126.
Although Northwich took it so close to the wire Aston completed the chase with 1 wicket to spare. Tonight was not our night, but we go again on Thursday and also Friday in the cup competitions. This team has improved so much and it is reflecting in results, although beaten we took this game right to the wire and as a club we are so proud how far this team have developed.

Our under 13’s also competed in the quarter finals of the South Cheshire Cup at home against Aston. Having just played Aston on Monday and fell just short, the lads were confident to get the victory tonight. Northwich won the toss and opted to bat, with 17 fours and 2 sixes - one which reached the club house, they made an absolutely MASSIVE 195 runs!!! Although they were chasing a massive total, Aston came out fighting and made 153 runs which in most games would be enough but thanks for a super batting performance and confident running between the wickets meant Northwich took the victory and move on to the next round. What a team this is, with an under 11 making his under 13 debut! Fantastic effort and into the semi final we go!

U11s vs Elworth
Always a tough game against Elworth and tonight was no different… games do not finish much closer! Elworth batted first and made 133 runs with Northwich taking a fantastic 11 wickets. For the batting performance - Northwich held their nerve and although only making 105 runs, some calm and collected batting towards the end of the innings meant we only lost 5 wickets resulting in a victory by a ridiculously close 2 runs. This game was won due to the number of wickets we took and lost - fantastic bowling and calm batting! Well done team - fantastic performance from both teams.
